DESCRIPTION

ENCORE’s Music & Ideas festival is a rapidly growing cultural phenomenon in Northeast Ohio, creating a space for larger vibrant conversations through the lens of chamber music. ENCORE aims to strengthen Cleveland’s thriving classical music scene by pairing TED talk style lectures and conversation with every concert - connecting other cultural aspects with music through a central theme, therefore drawing more attention from those who may not otherwise attend a chamber music concert.

Taken from author Dale Carnegie’s famous saying, the theme Creatures of Emotion is an artistic exploration of the brain and how humans experience and express emotion.

Ms. Cho’s pre-concert conversation will invite the audience to engage in a thought-provoking discussion about how music affects the brain and our emotions - not just playing music, but listening to, being surrounded by, and studying music. How exactly does music affect our wellness? During her discussion, Ms. Cho will reveal some of ENCORE's 2023 speakers who will guide our audience in answering this question.

PERFORMING ARTISTS

Jinjoo Cho, violin
Hyunsoo Kim, piano
