Su Yeon Kim has earned worldwide acclaim by winning the First Prize of the Concours musical international de Montréal in 2021. Her achievements also include the first prize at the J. N. Hummel International Piano Competition and at the Compositores de Espana Piano Competition, the second prize at the Mozart International Competition Salzburg 2020, among many others.

Across 2022/23 season, Su Yeon Kim makes her debut with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. As well as her debut recitals at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, NDR Hannover and Düsseldorf, her first album will be released with Steinway & Sons Label, featuring Mozart’s piano works, followed by a North-American concert tour. 

​An experienced performer, Su Yeon Kim has appeared as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie, the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Academia Teatro alla Scala, the Salzburg Orchestra Solists, Mozarteum Sinfonieorchester, Fairbanks Symphonic Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra and Krakow Philharmonic, among others. With her interest in play/conducting, she was invited to the Paris Play-Direct Academy and directed Mozart’s Piano Concerto KV 488 with the Orchestre de chambre de Paris.

Su Yeon Kim performs frequently in Korea and abroad, at many of the world’s major venues, including the Herkulessaal in Munich, Grand Hall of the Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, Teatro alla Scala and Sala Verdi in Milan, Grosser Saal in Salzburg, Parco della Musica in Rome, Philharmonie de Paris, Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo, Seoul Arts Centre and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. She also has been invited to perform at music festivals such as Allegretto Zilina Festival, St. Gellert Festival Szeged, and Allegro Vivo Festival.

​Born in Seoul in 1994, Su Yeon Kim received her first lessons at age 5 from Eunju Heo and pursued studies at the Korean Institute for the Gifted in Arts with Choong-Mo Kang, Chong-Pil Lim and Eunok Kim. She has been mentored by Austrian pianist Paul Gulda and she furthered her studies with Pavel Gililov at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, completed both bachelor’s and master’s degree with distinction. Currently she is based in Salzburg. Throughout her studies, Su Yeon Kim also received valuable inspiration from renowned pianists such as Alfred Brendel, Sir Andras Schiff, Robert Levin, Jacques Rouvier, Arie Vardi and William Grant Naboré.
